Job title: Lab Supervisor

About the Role We are currently building our in-house Reliability Lab staff and are looking for a talented Supervisor to join our team in overseeing product validation testing, evaluations, and failure analysis. The Lab Supervisor will coordinate test project timing/resources and lead initiatives to expand the laboratory’s capabilities to support current and future business growth.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise, develop, and evaluate Test Engineers/Technicians; coordinate daily work assignments and monitor project progress; coordinate training and growth opportunities for direct reports.
  • Collaborate with other departmental Supervisors on lean process improvements and strategic directives; provide general directions to lab personnel; facilitate guidance on test setup and equipment.
  • Ensure standard departmental work instructions and best practices; review test data summaries for completeness and accuracy including sample prep, test procedures, and equipment.
  • Support Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, ISO and EH&S policies; ensure department and company policies are followed.
  • Lead initiatives to expand laboratory testing capabilities by identifying, evaluating, justifying, and implementing new test methods, equipment, technologies, and services; manage qualification and deployment of new capabilities.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree in electronics, physics, or engineering with 2+ years in a lab evaluating electrical components, or an associate degree/technical certification with 5+ years of experience, plus 2+ years of leadership experience.
  • Proven supervisory/management and project management skills; ability to manage multiple large projects with cross-functional support.
  • Strong computer skills with Windows/MS Office and PC-based statistical analysis software; knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and failure analysis methods.
  • Knowledge of electrical contact physics and automotive standards such as USCAR, GMW, IATF 16949, IEC 17025.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to lead and work with others; strong communication and collaboration abilities.
