Job title: Lab IT Intern

About the Role The Lab IT Intern role is based in Shanghai, Hongqiao, On-site, supporting SharePoint and image processing tooling. You will collaborate with supervisors to scope requirements, develop and configure solutions, and enable end-to-end process automation to improve internal workflows.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with supervisors to scope requirements and design Microsoft SharePoint tools and image processing utilities that streamline internal workflows.
• Build and configure SharePoint solutions (lists/libraries, forms, workflows/Power Automate, permissions) to digitize approvals, task tracking, and document management.
• Develop image processing tools (e.g., batch conversion, resizing, quality checks, metadata tagging) to accelerate content preparation and reduce manual effort.
• Integrate systems and data by connecting SharePoint with internal applications (e.g., Power Apps, Excel/CSV imports, APIs) to enable end-to-end process automation.
• Create user-friendly interfaces and dashboards for supervisors and cross-functional teams, emphasizing usability, role-based access, and clear decision insights.
• Establish data governance for SharePoint content and images, including naming conventions, version control, retention policies, and audit/compliance requirements.
• Document, train, and support users by producing SOPs/user guides, delivering trainings, and providing ongoing troubleshooting and enhancement requests.
• Monitor performance and security, track usage metrics, optimize workflows, and implement best practices for reliability, privacy, and access control.

What We're Looking For

• Enrolled bachelor’s or master’s student in an IT-related major.
• Availability to work 6-9 months.
• Internship data must be reported and documented within IFF; if data needs to be presented at university, it should be under a non-disclosure agreement with supervisors from IFF and the university.

Nice to Have

• Working experience with ImageJ is advantageous.
• Good oral English skills.
