Job title: Lab Assistant/Peer Mentor

About the Role Peer Mentors (PMs) are assigned to work in the SLRC to provide support to students and the SLRC staff. They assist with a variety of activities including practicing vital signs and health assessment, tracking DP visits, helping with essential skills, and assisting with the setup and breakdown of simulation events to keep the SLRC running smoothly. The role supports student learning and SLRC operations.

What You'll Do

  • Review and practice basic skills (vital signs and health assessment)
  • Assist students with Deliberate Practice (DP) including tracking student visits
  • Help students with necessary skills (vital signs, BP, catheterization, injections)
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of simulation events
  • Help maintain the SLRC and support staff as needed

What We're Looking For

  • Current Villanova student in good academic standing; full-time enrolled College of Nursing student
  • Eligibility: Work study preferred but open to all students
  • Lab Assistant/Peer Mentors must supply two references from clinical faculty
  • Physical demands: ability to lift/move full body sized mannequins (>25 lbs), medical equipment, beds, tables, carts, audiovisual equipment; manual dexterity; standing for periods of time
  • Availability: 2-10 hours per week; schedule to be determined around class times; availability during Summer/Fall/Spring 2025-26

Compensation & Benefits
