Job title: Lab Assistant / Peer Mentor
About the Role Join the Biology department as a Lab Assistant / Peer Mentor. This on-campus student wage position supports basic lab operations and learning in Mendel Science Center labs across the 2025-2026 academic year.
What You'll Do
- Perform basic lab tasks, clean glassware, and process samples.
- Assist with various types of analysis as assigned by supervisors.
- Follow established procedures with careful attention to detail.
- Maintain a good work ethic and reliability; hours may vary and include summer, fall, and spring semesters.
- Availability Monday–Friday during class times and lab preparation.
What We're Looking For
- Attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
- Science major preferred but not required.
- Previous lab experience is a plus but not necessary.
- Must have good work ethic; reliable and able to commit to 5-20 hours per week.
Nice to Have
- Prior lab experience (if any) and an interest in biology or related fields.
Compensation & Benefits
- Wage rate: $10.00 per hour.
- Position runs during summer, fall and spring semesters.
