Job title: L3 Database Administrator (AWS RDS, OCI Exadata Cloud@Customer)
About the Role This role provides L3 database operations for AWS RDS and OCI Exadata Cloud@Customer, ensuring performance, stability, backup, recovery, and compliance within the managed services scope. You will execute DBA activities, incident/change/problem management, and drive improvements in database health and reliability.
What You'll Do
- Provide L3 support for AWS RDS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) databases and manage OCI Exadata Cloud@Customer VM clusters
- Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, patching, hardening, and audit compliance on DB systems
- Execute database performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization
- Manage backup, recovery, DR setups, cloning, data migration, and refresh activities
- Monitor health, alerts, and issue remediation; manage replication, clustering, and high availability configurations
- Handle incident, change, and problem management (L3), and manage DB user access, roles, and security configurations
- Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and technical documentation
- Leverage automation (Terraform, Ansible) and scripting (Shell, Python) to streamline operations
- Collaborate with multi-cloud teams (AWS + OCI) and service management tools (ServiceNow ITSM)
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience with AWS RDS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
- OCI Exadata Cloud@Customer VM cluster management experience
- Oracle Database & Exadata features knowledge (Flash Cache, Storage Index, HCC)
- Backup & Recovery skills (RMAN, snapshot-based backups)
- Database performance tuning and optimization
- Replication and DR setup
- Linux administration and common monitoring/alerting tools
- Automation experience (Terraform, Ansible)
- ServiceNow ITSM familiarity
- Scripting skills (Shell, Python)
- Exposure to multi-cloud environments (AWS + OCI)
- Oracle Database / Exadata Certification and AWS Database Specialty / Solutions Architect certification
Nice to Have
- Additional Oracle Exadata certifications and cloud certifications beyond those listed
- Prior experience in managed services environments with SOP/runbook discipline
