About the Role
Wise is seeking a KYC Operations Senior Analyst - Deactivation to help ensure regulatory compliance and effective risk management in onboarding and ongoing monitoring. You will conduct Enhanced Due Diligence, analyze customer activity and behaviour patterns, and maintain accurate KYC records, with a focus on onboarding and managing high-risk customers within Wise's risk appetite.
What You'll Do
- Conduct Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews based on customer risk profiles and make risk-based decisions while maintaining compliance with internal standards.
- Review customer transaction history and provide insights into behaviour patterns that may indicate risks; perform periodic reviews and analyse changes in history and account usage.
- Assess high-risk customer reports, provide analysis, and approve actions per policies and procedures.
- Prioritize records requiring further review, request information/documentation, and follow up as needed.
- Ensure documentation meets Wise's risk appetite for onboarding and maintaining high-risk customers.
- Perform in-depth analysis using documentation and external sources (websites, registries) to ensure onboarding within risk tolerance; conduct internet/third-party vendor searches as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams for escalated or complex cases; provide guidance to peers and management as appropriate.
- Maintain strong knowledge of AML/CFT regulations and their impact on Wise's products and services; draft SAR narratives when warranted.
- Lead projects related to team processes and guidelines; identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to policy, training materials, and SOPs.
- Draft internal/external reports; understand different business models, customer types, and country risks across geographies.
- Support internal and external audits and regulatory process reviews; mentor and train KYC Operations Analysts to enhance team capabilities.
- Communicate effectively with customers through Wise's channels (phone, email, chat) and operate within expected KPIs.
- Participate in meetings, training, and events as assigned by leadership.
What We're Looking For
- Strong knowledge of AML/CFT regulations and their impact on the business and Wise products/services.
- Experience performing Enhanced Due Diligence, risk-based onboarding decisions, and managing high-risk customer reviews.
- Ability to analyse customer activity, transaction history, and identify risk indicators; proficient in SAR drafting when needed.
- Research skills using internet sources and third-party vendors; ability to verify information across multiple geographies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and escalate complex cases.
- Experience mentoring and coaching KYC Analysts; ability to train and develop team capabilities.
- Comfortable supporting audits and regulatory process reviews; strong understanding of different business models, country risks, and regulatory requirements globally.
