Kitchen Manager Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in kitchen leadership or management
• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation standards
• Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a team of up to 15 staff members
• Experience managing food costs, inventory, and labor effectively
• Familiarity with Toast or other modern POS systems and comfortable working with technology
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays

Kitchen Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen operations including food preparation, service, and closing duties
• Lead and schedule kitchen staff while maintaining a positive and professional culture
• Ensure consistent food quality, portion control, and adherence to recipe standards
• Manage food inventory, ordering, receiving, and storage with attention to cost control
• Collaborate with restaurant management to ensure seamless service and troubleshoot operational issues
• Support menu execution and assist in developing specials to introduce modern options alongside traditional dishes
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
