We are seeking a hardworking, reliable, and energetic Kitchen Assistant to join our Food & Beverage team.
The Kitchen Assistant supports the kitchen team in the preparation and production of food while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, food safety, organisation, and efficiency. The role involves assisting chefs with basic food preparation, maintaining kitchen equipment and work areas, receiving and storing kitchen supplies, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen.
- Assist with food preparation, cutting, washing, peeling, and portioning of ingredients.
- Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
- Wash and sanitize kitchen utensils, equipment, and work areas.
- Assist chefs and cooks during food production and service.
- Support proper storage and handling of food items.
- Assist with stock-taking and minimize food waste.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum of SSCE/WAEC, OND or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, catering business, or commercial kitchen is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Good personal hygiene and a neat appearance.
- Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and public holidays when required.
- Willingness to learn and develop culinary and kitchen-management skills.
