About this role

Job title: Kinesiology, Sport Management & Wellness Instructor (Part-Time)

About the Role Part-time instructors are sought by the Ila Faye Miller School of Nursing & Health Professions to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Kinesiology, Sport Management, and Wellness. This applicant pool will be used to hire qualified part-time faculty for the 2026-2027 academic year, with assignments for one term at a time and in alignment with UIW's mission and professional standards.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare course outlines and teach based on approved departmental syllabi; deliver interactive lectures.
  • Prepare and administer timely assessments; evaluate student performance via exams, papers, or assessment of student skills.
  • Perform administrative duties as needed for teaching and grading processes.
  • Work collaboratively with departmental faculty to ensure standard curriculum outcomes are met.
  • Be available outside of class to help students learn and answer questions (1 hour per 3-hour class, in person and/or electronically).
  • Adhere to UIW Faculty Handbook policies and procedures, including timely record keeping, fair evaluation, and timely feedback to students.
  • Conduct respectful relationships with faculty, staff, and students in and outside the classroom.
  • Maintain contact with the department chair and participate in meetings upon request.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology, Sport Management, or a relevant field.
  • At least two (2) years of relevant professional experience in the associated discipline.
  • Ability to deliver instruction both in-person and online as needed.
  • Ability to learn, use, and incorporate instructional technology into teaching.
  • Willingness and flexibility to teach day, evening, and weekend sections as needed.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Adherence to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
  • Certification in a respective area of Kinesiology, Sport Management, or Wellness.

Nice to Have

  • Master of Science or Terminal degree in a related area.
  • Extensive experience in the discipline to teach graduate-level courses.
  • Teaching experience at the baccalaureate or graduate level.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary is commensurate with experience.
  • This position is not benefits eligible.
