Junior Software Engineer – Front-End Developer

Our organization is seeking a Software Engineer with a Top Secret clearance to complete a contract position.

The office locations for this role are Albuquerque, NM or El Segundo, CA. This position requires 100% onsite work.

Role Overview

The selected Software Engineer will join a growing team supporting the development of mission-critical software applications. The role will focus on software design, development, testing, and integration activities while collaborating with senior engineers and technical leads. Candidates should have a strong software engineering foundation and be comfortable working across the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software applications and services.

• Support software design, implementation, testing, and integration efforts.

• Collaborate with senior engineers and technical leads to implement software solutions.

• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.

• Develop and consume REST APIs and backend services.

• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects.

• Contribute to system documentation and technical deliverables.

• Work within Agile software development environments.

• Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

• 2-5 years of software development experience.

• Experience with one or more programming languages such as:

• Java

• Python

• C/C++

• Experience working with JavaScript frameworks.

• Experience developing or consuming REST APIs.

• Understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design concepts.

• Experience using source control tools such as Git.

• Active Top Secret Clearance required.

• Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MongoDB, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, NoSQL, or other database technologies.

• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.

• Experience with CI/CD tools and automated build pipelines.

• Familiarity with software testing methodologies and unit testing.

• Experience working within Agile teams.

• Experience with mission systems, space systems, ground systems, satellite operations, or command-and-control environments is a plus but not required. Strong software engineering experience is the primary focus.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
