Junior General Ledger Accountant

As a Junior GL Accountant, you will support General Ledger operations by performing daily accounting activities and month-end closing tasks. You will help ensure accurate financial data, compliance with internal procedures, and complete audit documentation.
Responsibilities
- Execute month‑end closing tasks according to the close calendar and cut‑off rules
- Post standard and recurring journal entries (accruals, payroll, prepaids, bank entries)
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations using standard templates
- Perform intercompany matching and support confirmations
- Execute fixed asset accounting activities (capitalization, depreciation checks, disposals)
- Identify posting errors, perform first‑level analysis, and escalate issues timely
- Maintain proper documentation and audit evidence
- Work strictly according to SOPs, Janus, SLA and internal control requirements
- Support audits, internal checks, and ad‑hoc requests
- Actively participate in knowledge transfer, training, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Preparation and submission of tax declarations to Tax Authorities (VAT) (where applicable)
- Handling statistics and other external reporting activities (where applicable)
- Prepare management reports and analysis as needed
- Perform other tasks based on serving country requirements and supervisor’s requests
Qualifications

Degree or ongoing studies in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field

Basic knowledge of accounting principles

Basic knowledge of MS Excel; familiarity with SAP, HFM, or BlackLine is an advantage

English at B1 level; additional market language may be required

Accuracy, willingness to learn, and ability to follow procedures and deadlines
