About the Role Canonical is looking for a Junior Developer to join the Observability team. You will help build a cloud-native monitoring stack that combines best-in-class open-source tools. The role emphasizes open source, Linux, Kubernetes, and observability, with Day 1 and Day 2 operations in mind, and opportunities to work with a globally distributed team.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain a cloud-native monitoring stack that integrates open-source monitoring tools.
- Contribute to development in Python and/or Go.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across distributed offices; work with Linux, Kubernetes, and observability tooling.
- Deliver user-friendly experiences and ensure Day 1 and Day 2 operability.
What We're Looking For
- Proven track record in Python and/or Go.
- Passion for open source software, Linux, Kubernetes, and Observability.
- Comfortable working in a remote/distributed team.
- Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with monitoring tooling and cloud-native stacks.
- Familiarity with Ubuntu/Cannonical and open source community involvement.
