Job Title: Junior Civil Engineer

Role Overview We are seeking a motivated Junior Civil Engineer to join our team in Lekki, Lagos. The successful candidate will support the planning, design, and execution of civil and structural works for renewable energy projects (including solar farms, hybrid plants, mini-grids, and associated infrastructure). This entry-to-early-career role provides hands-on experience and professional development under the guidance of senior engineers.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of civil and structural designs, drawings, and calculations for foundations, buildings, access roads, drainage, and other site infrastructure related to energy projects.

Support site surveys, soil investigations, and topographical assessments.

Help prepare bills of quantities, material schedules, and basic cost estimates.

Participate in site supervision, quality control, and progress monitoring of civil works.

Assist with the review of contractor method statements, shop drawings, and construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and standards.

Support the preparation of technical reports, development of policies, progress updates, and as-built documentation.

Work closely with senior civil engineers, project managers, electrical teams, and contractors to ensure coordinated project delivery.

Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards on all sites.

Continuously develop technical knowledge in civil engineering applications for renewable energy and infrastructure projects.

Academic Qualifications/Requirements

B.Eng/HND in Civil Engineering.

NEBOSH and HSE (1 – 3) Certifications

COREN registration (or eligibility/graduate membership) is an advantage; membership of NSE or equivalent professional body is desirable.

2–3 years of relevant experience.

Exposure to construction sites, structural design, or infrastructure projects is preferred.

Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD Pro, or similar tools is an advantage.

Basic understanding of Nigerian construction standards, codes, and practices is desirable.
