About the Role
Honest is seeking a Junior Backend Engineer to help design, build, and maintain our backend services powering our credit card platform. You will collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and other backend engineers to deliver scalable and reliable systems. This role offers growth in a fast-paced, diverse engineering culture. What You'll Do

Develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs using Golang.

Work with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and caching systems to ensure performance and scalability.

Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing within the team.

Help improve system monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure high system availability.

Continuously learn and grow as part of a supportive engineering culture.

You will work closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and other backend engineers to deliver scalable and reliable services powering Honest's credit card platform. What We're Looking For

3-10 years of experience in backend development (internships or personal projects also count).

Strong interest or experience in Golang.

Understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices concepts.

Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases.

Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or similar) is a plus.

Problem-solving mindset, willingness to learn, and strong teamwork skills.

Ability to communicate in English (our team is international). Nice to Have

Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines.

Knowledge of message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).

Exposure to fintech or payment systems.
