KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To support the Finance Department by ensuring accurate processing of financial transactions, maintaining accounting records, preparing reconciliations, and assisting with financial reporting. The Junior Accountant plays a key role in ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and efficient financial operations.

Financial Transactions

• Process supplier invoices, payments, and creditor reconciliations.

• Capture and maintain accurate accounting records in the financial system.

• Process journal entries and assist with month-end procedures.

• Ensure all supporting documentation is properly filed and maintained. Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Assist with debtor and creditor account reconciliations.

• Follow up on outstanding debtor balances.

• Verify and process supplier invoices and payment requests.

• Resolve discrepancies relating to invoices and payments. Reconciliations

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances.

• Assist with cashbook and petty cash reconciliations. Financial Reporting

• Assist in preparing monthly management reports.

• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.

• Prepare schedules and reports required for audits.

• Ensure financial data is accurate and submitted within deadlines. Compliance & Controls

• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

• Maintain confidentiality of financial information.

• Support internal and external audit processes.

• Assist in implementing and maintaining financial controls. Minimum Requirements

Education

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Experience

• 1-3 years' experience in an accounting or finance environment.

• Hospitality experience advantageous.

• Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
