ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is an established accounting practice offering accounting, taxation and financial services to a range of business clients in the Durban area.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
This is an entry-level opportunity for a motivated school leaver to start a career in accounting. The Junior Accountant will support the senior accountants with bookkeeping, statutory submissions and monthly accounting work, with full on-the-job training.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Capturing and processing financial transactions
Preparing and submitting VAT and PAYE returns
Performing bank reconciliations and general bookkeeping
Assisting with monthly accounting functions
Supporting senior accountants as required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent

Understanding of basic accounting principles

No prior work experience required; training will be provided
