Job title: Judiciary Clerk 3
About the Role The New Jersey Judiciary seeks an organized, customer-service oriented individual with strong technical competence, organizational awareness, and interpersonal skills to join the Office of Probation Services, Intensive Supervision Program (ISP) Northern Regional office in Paterson. The selected candidate will provide a variety of administrative clerical functions and clerical support within ISP, a program designed to supervise adults and juveniles re-entering the community.
What You'll Do
- Handle data entry of all new applications in ISP/JISP automated systems
- Prepare files utilizing NJ Judiciary Mainframe application
- Prepare packets for assessment report writers
- Prepare letters to Judges, prosecutors, police chiefs, victims, etc.
- Process all approved ISP cases
- Verify eligibility requirements for ISP
- Compile necessary information and prepare cases for court
- Manage and update eligibility files
- Provide backup coverage for office staff as needed
- Assist in answering incoming phone calls
- Staff court proceedings and handle court-related duties such as court prep, operating CourtSmart and CourtSmart tagging, preparation of orders and other court-related documentation for judges, ISP participants, etc.
- Prepare and facilitate client files and other court-related documents for records retention
- Perform other related duties as required
- Note: The Judiciary Clerk 3 position may require work in an on-site or virtual courtroom. Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.
What We're Looking For
- One year of experience performing clerical and support services, including keyboarding and one or more of: document or information processing, handling payments for fees, recording monies received, reconciling balances or accounts and/or scheduling meetings or appointments
- Ability to use a keyboard (no minimum speed)
- Physical ability to perform duties requiring climbing, prolonged standing, stretching, bending and reaching; ability to frequently lift 30-50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds
- Driver's license valid in New Jersey if operation of a vehicle is necessary
- Authorized to work in the US (citizenship not required)
- Willingness to undergo a thorough background check including fingerprinting

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $47,483.56 to $71,916.05 (Schedule A) and $47,483.56 to $64,381.02 (Schedule B), with newly hired individuals typically starting at the minimum of the range
- For current Judiciary employees, promotion/advancement includes a 5% base salary increase (not to exceed the maximum of the range or the minimum salary of the next band, whichever is greater)
