Job title: Judiciary Clerk 3
About the Role The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an organized, customer-service oriented individual with exceptional technical competence, organizational awareness, and interpersonal skills to join the Office of Probation Services, Intensive Supervision Program (ISP) Southern Regional office in Cherry Hill. The selected candidate will provide administrative clerical support and handle data entry in ISP/JISP automated systems, prepare files and letters, and assist with court-related duties in a hybrid work environment.
What You'll Do
- Handle data entry of all new applications in ISP/JISP automated systems
- Prepare files utilizing NJ Judiciary Mainframe application
- Prepare packets for assessment report writers
- Prepare letters to Judges, prosecutors, police chiefs, victims and others
- Process all approved ISP cases
- Verify eligibility requirements for ISP have been met
- Compile necessary information and prepare cases for court
- Manage and update eligibility files
- Provide backup coverage for office staff as needed
- Assist in answering incoming phone calls
- Staff court proceedings and handle court-related duties such as court prep, operating CourtSmart and CourtSmart tagging, preparation of orders and other court-related documentation for judges and ISP participants
- Prepare and facilitate client files and other court-related documents for records retention
- Perform other related duties as required
Note: The Judiciary Clerk 3 position may require work in an on-site or virtual courtroom. Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.
What We're Looking For
- One year of experience performing a variety of clerical and support services to include keyboarding and one or more of the following: document or information processing, handling payments for fees, recording monies received, reconciling balances or accounts and/or scheduling meetings or appointments
- Ability to use a keyboard (no minimum speed)
- Supplemental information includes potential physical requirements (lifting up to 75 pounds in some cases) and driving license expectations if vehicle operation is necessary
- U.S. citizenship is not required; candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S. according to DHS/USCIS regulations
- New Jersey driver’s license may be required if vehicle operation is necessary
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary ranges: $47,483.56 to $71,916.05 (Schedule A) or $47,483.56 to $64,381.02 (Schedule B) per year
- Starting salary typically at the minimum for newly hired individuals; 5% increase on promotion for current Judiciary employees, when applicable
