Overview
HP is seeking a Supply Chain Planner in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The role involves managing demand planning processes, forecasting, inventory optimization, and supply network coordination to support service and product lifecycle needs.
Responsibilities

Manage demand planning processes using a wide range of forecasting methods throughout the service support life cycle.

Analyze demand trends to identify deviations and determine root causes.

Anticipate factors influencing demand, including seasonal trends and lifecycle specifics.

Assess forecast accuracy, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions.

Analyze stocking requirements for a multi-echelon network and define requirements to meet customer service levels while optimizing inventory and carrying costs.

Evaluate current and future inventory requirements and take action to mitigate shortages or excesses.

Apply multi-echelon inventory optimization concepts to guide inventory decisions.

Monitor inventory trends and deviations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.

Track excess and obsolescence trends and take actions to mitigate cost impact.

Optimize the sourcing plan to reach targeted inventory by balancing repair versus new buy.

Optimize network replenishment requirements across multiple locations.

Initiate timely balancing of material to fulfill needs and avoid overstock.

Manage lifecycle events such as new product introductions (NPI) and last-time buys in collaboration with product lifecycle management (PLM) and suppliers.

Support continuous process improvement and process automation by analyzing data, identifying patterns, and drawing actionable conclusions.

Apply understanding of integrated software systems and their workflows.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain, mathematics-related subjects, or engineering.
- 6–10+ years of experience in supply chain, planning, or other analytically focused roles.
- Fluency in English.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to think critically and make data-driven judgments.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills; able to prioritize critical work.
- Strong communication skills to interact with suppliers, customers, and supply chain team members.
- High attention to detail and the ability to apply tools and technology to deliver results.
- Ability to understand global business processes and assess the impact of changes.
- Technical proficiency and strong computer literacy, with experience in ERP systems.
