Job Application Guide

Stetson University

About this role

About the Role A guide from Stetson University describing how to use the Career Page to apply for jobs, including account creation, job search, application submission, and status checks.

What You'll Do

  • Create an account or sign in on the My Career Page website. Email addresses must be unique; if you forget your username, click Forgot username to have it emailed to you; you may sign in using Google or Facebook as alternative options.
  • Set a strong password (at least 12 characters, including upper and lower case letters, numbers, and symbols) and answer the security question; complete fields; a checkmark indicates each correct value; click Create and keep a record of your username and password.
  • Find jobs by entering a title and optionally filtering by state, city, or zip code; click Find Jobs to view results and click the job title to view details.
  • Apply for a job by clicking Apply, optionally importing a résumé, and completing the employer-determined steps; progress is shown on the left and errors are highlighted; you can save or discard changes, remove items (such as a previous job) with confirmation, and data removed cannot be recovered.
  • Check your application status by using the Applications & Status menu under your username; view in-progress, submitted, or incomplete applications; click a job title for more details, view the job posting, and review the steps in the hiring process.
  • If needed, manage attachments: upload résumés, driver’s licenses, or certificates; supported formats depend on the employer; use Add supplemental attachment to add extra files and use Recent Uploads to reuse previously uploaded items.

What We're Looking For

  • An understanding of account creation rules: unique email, username recovery, password requirements, and security questions.
  • Ability to provide required information during an application: contact information, work experience, education, licenses/certificates, skills, languages, references, supplemental questions, and attachments as requested.
  • Comfort with saving progress, correcting errors, and using delete/remove actions as needed; note that some actions are irreversible.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with attaching and reusing files via Recent Uploads; importing a résumé to speed up the process; selecting attachment types when uploading.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Not specified in this guide.
