Intern Software Engineer

Welcome to the start of your career in Scalefocus! At this level we will give our best to enable you to get the right foundations, structure your adaptations and learning process. This way you will be ready to work on your project shortly after stepping into your new Java shoes!

Software Engineer I

Working with your team and TTL to deliver the best solution for our clients and keep growing as a strong professional. You are actively participating in the full software development cycle and work on developing tools and applications according to technology best practices under the mentorship of your manager.

Software Engineer II

Your progress has brought you at this level, where you actively participate in development estimation sessions and identifying potential improvements. You are encouraged to start participating in delivering proposals for technical strategies, architecture and solutions that meet overall business requirements.

Software Engineer III

At this step, you are able to participate in developing and recommending technical strategies, architecture and solutions. You are working on developing tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code and communicate them with internal and external stakeholders. You are empowered to lead and mentor younger developers.

Senior Software Engineer

You are leading discussions regarding the development phases, preparing documentation and giving suggestions and solutions. You have an active and leading role in the communication with all stakeholders and have an active role in all meetings. The very strong technical competence enables you to design and implement high-quality solutions according to technology best practices and build scalable solutions that meet overall business requirements.

Principal Software Engineer

Your scope of activities is getting broader and new competences built. Besides the supreme technical component, at this stage you are actively participating in the company recruitment activities as well as taking active participation in the company pre-sales activities. Development of technical strategies, architecture and solutions and guiding the delivery teams is still your strongest focus!

Build on your know-how with tech and soft skills trainings

Our Java colleagues also have access to a variety of tech training options through platforms such as Udemy, Coursera and Pluralsight. They can get certified in everything from, you guessed it, Java to Spring, AWS and MuleSoft. The Scalefocus Learning & Development crew also makes other opportunities available regularly, including soft skills trainings focusing on time management, conflict resolution, effective communication and emotional intelligence. Additionally, anyone who wants to develop their managerial skill set can complete our internal LEAD program. The 15-week course covers essential topics, such as building effective teams, communicating with different behavior types and creating trust.

Share your experience and learn from others through knowledge transfer sessions

We also hold knowledge-sharing sessions initiated by team members who discuss with the Scalefocus Java & Integration community their experience on interesting projects. Another great event we organize is our Tech Savvy Talks series where Technology Team Leads (TTLs) cover hot tech topics. Our North Macedonian team already has their own local event – Java Beers Skopje, which we plan to gradually adapt and export to all of our delivery locations.

The types of projects you will be working on

As part of the Java & Integration team at Scalefocus, you will sharpen your skills on interesting projects and boost your confidence as a programmer while collaborating with colleagues from outside your direct team. We do varied work for a wide network of international clients that is constantly expanding. You will be working for Fortune 500 companies, innovative startups and industry leaders from Canada, India, China, the USA, Singapore and across all of Europe.

If you are looking for a place that is truly international, you found it. We have over 700 colleagues spread across 7 delivery locations in Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Turkey. Once you join the Java team, you will become a part of a multicultural environment that is welcoming and exciting.
