Java Developer
On behalf of a leading financial institution driving digital innovation in Nigeria, we are recruiting a highly skilled Java Developer. In this role, you will join a dynamic engineering team dedicated to building secure, seamless, and high-performance applications for the bank's growing digital ecosystem.
Job Purpose
The Java Developer will write clean, well-tested code to build and maintain backend applications, microservices, and API integrations. You will work closely with system architects and product teams to ensure the bank’s digital products are fast, secure, and reliable for millions of customers.
Key Responsibilities

Application Development: Write high-quality, maintainable code to develop backend services using Java and the Spring Boot framework.

API Integration: Build and maintain secure RESTful APIs to connect internal banking applications with external fintech partners and payment gateways.

Database Support: Write and optimize SQL queries, working with databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle to manage financial data accurately.

Testing & Bug Fixing: Write unit tests (using JUnit) to ensure code reliability, and collaborate with QA teams to troubleshoot and resolve system bugs quickly.

Agile Collaboration: Participate actively in daily standups, sprint planning, and code reviews within an Agile/Scrum environment.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience in backend software development using Java.

Technical Stack:

Solid understanding of relational databases (SQL) and ORM frameworks like Hibernate.

Familiarity with Git for version control.

Banking Domain (Plus): Previous experience in a fintech, digital lending platform, or banking environment is preferred but not mandatory.

Proficiency with AWS cloud services and integrating them into Java-based applications.
