Janitor – Choices Markets Commissary

Choices Markets Commissary is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Janitor to help keep our food production facility clean, safe, and organized.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize floors, work areas, washrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
• Collect garbage and recycling, and keep disposal areas clean and organized.
• Clean production equipment, carts, racks, and trays as assigned, following approved procedures.
• Support dishwashing and keep the dishwashing area clean and organized.
• Refill soap, paper towels, and other sanitation supplies.
• Use and store cleaning chemicals safely, following instructions and food safety requirements.
• Complete daily and scheduled cleaning tasks and maintain cleaning records.
• Report maintenance needs, safety hazards, and signs of pest activity.
• Work with production and receiving teams to keep walkways and work areas clear.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial or commercial cleaning experience preferred.

• Experience in a food production facility is an asset.

• Ability to follow cleaning procedures and chemical safety instructions.

• Comfortable working in a busy environment, including cooler and freezer areas as required.

• Able to stand for extended periods, bend, push carts, and safely handle cleaning equipment.

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.

• WHMIS training is an asset; job-specific training will be provided.

• Schedule: one day on the weekend - afternoon shift

• Wage: To be confirmed, based on experience.
