• Jail Ministries Coordinator

• Redwood Gospel Missions, in the grace and power of Jesus Christ, mobilizes our community to minister to the needy so that lives are transformed.

• Location: 101 6th Street, Santa Rosa

• Ministry: Shelter & Recovery

• Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week

• Supervisor: Director of Shelter and Recovery

• Also works with: New Life Program Manager

• Position Summary: Coordinates Redwood Gospel Missions Jail Ministry volunteers and program within the Sonoma County Jail.

Qualifications

• Alignment with the organization's Philosophy and Statement of Faith.

• Demonstrated Spiritual Maturity.

• Substance-free (alcohol, illicit drugs, and tobacco) for a minimum of 3 years.

• Ability to pass Sonoma County Sheriff's clearance protocol.

• No felony convictions, unless record has been expunged.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer use.

• Prior experience leading and managing a team.

• Experience in planning and executing group projects preferred.

• Duties & Responsibilities

• Attend at least two MADF Sheriff Department safety meetings annually.

• Participate in the annual Sonoma County Sheriff provider meeting.

• Recruit, Screen, Train and support volunteers for Jail Ministry at the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility

• Assist volunteers in securing professional visit clearances (non-contact and contact)

• Lead quarterly training and supervision meetings for ministry volunteers

• Collect inmate request slips weekly

• Coordinate with New Life Program managers and volunteers on inmate applications and interview process

• Identify and equip a spiritually mature leader to preach weekly in the jail on behalf of the Protestant Church.
