About the Role A contract Italian Translator / Linguist will translate and localize Wikimedia content for Italian-speaking audiences across Wikimedia projects. This remote role supports fast-moving, multilingual knowledge access while helping maintain high-quality translations for a global community. What You'll Do
- Translate and localize content from English to Italian with accuracy and style consistency.
- Review translations for terminology, tone, and adherence to Wikimedia style guides.
- Collaborate with product, content, and community teams to support multilingual access and contribute to glossaries and translation memories.
- Manage multiple translation tasks and meet project deadlines in a remote, contract setting. What We're Looking For
- Native-level fluency in Italian and strong written English.
- Experience translating or localizing content for digital platforms; familiarity with open knowledge projects is a plus.
- Excellent editing and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a remote contract capacity and communicate effectively with distributed teams.
