About the Role Wikimedia Foundation is seeking an Italian Translator / Linguist on a contract basis to translate, localize, and ensure high-quality Italian content across Wikimedia projects. What You'll Do
- Translate and localize content from English to Italian, ensuring accuracy and cultural relevance.
- Edit and proofread translations, adhering to Wikimedia style guides and terminology glossaries.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and community teams to support multilingual content and localization workflows.
- Maintain translation memories and glossaries to improve consistency and efficiency. What We're Looking For
- Native or near-native Italian with strong English skills.
- Experience translating or localizing content for tech, knowledge, or community platforms.
- Familiarity with Wikimedia projects and style guides; ability to work remotely and manage time effectively.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills; attention to detail and consistency.
