Monday-Friday 8am-5pm flexible schedule available. RCO is head-quartered in Olympia, WA on the state's capital campus. RCO will consider candidates that can successfully do this job from another location (in-state only) with occasional travel to Olympia for meetings and other functions.

What you will be doing:

• This position is essential to supporting web-based and map-based communications to state lawmakers, agency stakeholders and the public, and to foster effective agency staff collaboration.
• The GIS Systems Administrator configures and supports ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Hub Premium, and ArcGIS Pro/License Manager products. This position also develops maps and mapping applications on ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online for agency websites. This position works with ESRI Technical Support and solution consultants to resolve problems and develop and support mapping applications.
• The Web Systems Administrator configures and supports WordPress/MySQL, SharePoint, PHP, on Windows/IIS and vendor-hosted (in the future) web platforms. This position is the senior level technician with the authority to plan and prioritize architecture design, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and consulting tasks for web-based application servers, software, and services for multiple websites at the Recreation and Conservation Office. This position sets standards and gives direction to contract developers for web services and applications.
• This position supports the agency mission and organizing principles by administering the agency web hosting infrastructure and providing application support, including performing duties as web developer, SharePoint site collection administrator, and developing web maps and applications for staff and public consumption. This position is required to apply technical knowledge to evaluate and resolve complex tasks, e.g., system administration, data stewardship, and problem resolution. This position develops their own process, methods, documentation, and training to meet assigned objectives. This position will support the transition of web hosting duties to WaTech (state central IT services).
• The Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) and the Puget Sound Partnership (Partnership) have a consortium agreement that allows for the sharing of IT staff, resources and support services. This position is employed by the RCO and provides technical direction and support to the Partnership.

Duties

Some of what you'll enjoy doing:

• Lead the administration of RCO GIS applications and services.
• Independently develop maps and mapping applications, and other applications as necessary to ensure that geographic information systems meet emerging requirements.

• Lead the overall administration of RCO and PSP web servers, web sites, and WordPress Content Management Systems.
• Independently develop web pages, web forms, and other applications as necessary to ensure that websites meet emerging requirements.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• Must pass the state IT Security Awareness training within one month of hire.
• Must take the state Purchasing and Procurement Ethics training within six months of hire.
• 3 years of experience providing IT customer support.
• 3 years of information technology experience such as analyzing, designing, installing, programming, and/or maintaining computer software applications.
• 2 years of information technology experience administering GIS applications such ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Online.
• 1 year of experience supporting SQL databases, such as SQL Server or MySQL.
• 1 year of experience supporting a Cloud-based server environment such as Azure or AWS.
• 1 year of information technology experience designing, developing, hosting, and administering Internet web sites and applications, and configuring internet server certificates.
• 1 year of experience with scripting languages such as HTML, JavaScript, ASP, PHP, DHTML, CSS, Python, or Perl.
