Job title: IT Support Specialist

About the Role The IT Support Specialist provides maintenance for the client computer environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, and installing hardware and software solutions for Bachoco USA's Albertville facility.

What You'll Do

• Logs internal client calls for assistance and proposes solutions or directs their calls to staff within the department responsible for resolving the issue.
• Monitors request backlog and follows up on staff/department assignments to verify action is being taken/planned and that the client is kept informed of progress.
• Requests training as appropriate to meet the requirements of the position.
• Assists writing Help Desk documentation for the staff and offers assistance to other Help Desk coordinators.
• Advises management of status of projects as required; coordinates projects when needed.
• Performs with minimal supervision.
• Assists Programmer/Analysts with identifying the source of an application problem.
• Conducts group meetings and presentations within MIS as required.
• Fulfills management reporting requirements as may be requested.

What We're Looking For

• Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts; apply basic algebra and geometry.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions; deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registration: Must have a valid driver's license and must be able to qualify for the company driver program.
• Computer Skills: Knowledge of all Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Office and a very good understanding of PC, Printer and Networking hardware.
• Other Qualifications: Performs all aspects of the job with little assistance; demonstrates a positive and helpful attitude; stays current in the computer science field; must have two or more years of experience in the help desk function before promotion; complies with Bachoco USA Industries policies and procedures.
