About this role
The IT Software/Computer Specialist is an entry/mid-level role that works onsite at customer locations or remotely to field, upgrade, and troubleshoot government software and hardware for various customers in the United States and designated overseas locations.
Responsibilities
- Configure and install government software modules onto customer-owned devices to support individual customer requirements
- Test to ensure government software modules function as intended according to configurations
- Evaluate, troubleshoot, and report discrepancies identified with government-owned software
- Train customers of varying technical ability on the functions of the software
- Write detailed reports of work performed on a weekly basis
Requirements
- Security+ required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance
- Up to 3 years of related experience or college courses
- Ability to communicate technical computer information to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Must be compliant within 6 months with DoD Directive 8570 IAT Level II certification
- Knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, FTP, SSH, IPCONFIG) is desired
- Ability to troubleshoot, research, and resolve issues
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Experience with Satellite Communication (SATCOM) and networking is a plus
- Must be able to travel up to 25%, with potential for short-notice trips and extended lengths (2 weeks+)
