We are looking for a Security Engineer to help assess, implement, and operationally support security technologies that strengthen incident response and improve security operations. This role will play an active part in evaluating emerging technologies, assessing vendor solutions, and influencing tool selection decisions based on operational needs, technical fit, and long-term value. The person in this role will also partner with internal customers to understand automation needs, translate those needs into actionable plans, and help maintain the operational capability and deployment of selected tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain incident response automations to improve speed, consistency, and operational effectiveness

  • Meet with internal customers and stakeholders to understand automation needs, pain points, and desired outcomes

  • Translate business and operational needs into clear action plans, technical approaches, and implementation steps

  • Assess emerging technologies and evaluate vendor solutions to determine technical fit, operational value, and alignment with team needs

  • Help influence technology selection decisions by providing structured analysis, recommendations, and implementation considerations

  • Support implementation, deployment, and ongoing operational capability of selected tools and platforms

  • Serve as a supporting technical resource for other teams that rely on shared security tools and capabilities

  • Track assigned projects and tasks in a purpose-built project management tool, ensuring work is organized and progressing as expected

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align automation and technology decisions with broader security and operational priorities

  • Document requirements, assessments, recommendations, project updates, and implementation plans

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and strengthen repeatable security processes

  • What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.

  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

  • Experience in security engineering, security operations, or automation-focused technical roles

  • Hands-on experience assessing, implementing, or supporting security tools and platforms

  • Ability to evaluate vendor solutions and contribute to technology selection decisions

  • Experience gathering stakeholder requirements and translating them into practical technical plans

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously

  • Experience supporting operational adoption and ongoing maintenance of technical solutions

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical and non-technical partners

  • Python, C#, PowerShell, Bash Scripting experience

  • Incident response and security operations knowledge

  • Tool implementation, deployment, and sustainment experience
