Job title: IT Security Analyst Student Worker (Federal Work Study eligible Regent University students only)
About the Role IT Security Analyst Student Worker at Regent University works in a faith-based environment committed to academic excellence and global influence. The role supports Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) activities and security operations in the Information Security Department. This is a part-time student position eligible for Federal Work Study.
What You'll Do
- Assist with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) activities
- Support vendor risk assessment processes
- Monitor and review Google Workspace alerts and dashboards
- Review security tool dashboards including SentinelOne, Varonis, and Proofpoint
- Conduct research on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices
- Support Student SOC initiative
- Organize and maintain the Information Security Department's SharePoint site
- Participate in monthly DFIR lab trainings
- Participate in security projects such as tabletop exercises, phishing simulations, and security assessments
- Help maintain security documentation including SOPs and playbooks
- Support incident response activities by gathering information and documenting findings as able under supervision
What We're Looking For
- Current Regent University student; Federal Work Study eligible
- Enrolled in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Familiarity with common security tools and technologies (SIEM, EDR, firewalls)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $13.00 per hour
