About the Role
The IT Operations & Application Specialist will plan, operate and continuously improve our complex engineering application landscape, ensuring high availability, performance and security. You will bridge infrastructure and software, own the integrity of applications and databases, and contribute to deployment, testing and quality assurance across environments. What You'll Do
- Application Ownership: Take ownership of the integrity and health of existing and new engineering applications and their databases, including versioning, environment management and ensuring security and compliance.
- Software Deployment & Release Management: Deploy software from external developers to test, staging, and production environments.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external teams on IT projects to ensure quality, perform verification, and implement new features.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Perform manual testing to ensure new features and bug fixes function correctly; identify opportunities to automate repetitive testing (e.g., with Selenium).
- Code Review & Understanding: Review source code (JavaScript, C#) to understand changes, support troubleshooting, and validate changes from external partners. What We're Looking For
- Education & Experience: Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional IT operations experience.
- Application Expertise: Strong knowledge of PLM applications (e.g., Teamcenter or ARAS); familiarity with CAD software; experience with troubleshooting, coding and debugging (SQL, JavaScript, C#, JSON).
- Technical Skills: Windows Server and SQL Server administration; PowerShell scripting; Linux server environments; knowledge of .NET / C# is beneficial.
- Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve complex issues across systems and applications.
- Additional Competencies: Comfortable with software deployment processes and multi-environment code repositories; understanding of infrastructure concepts and system architectures; basic ITIL knowledge is a plus.
- Language Skills: Good command of English; good German or willingness to acquire. Nice to Have
