About the Role The IT Intern – Infrastructure assists the Global Infrastructure team by providing first-level technical support to Fortune Brands Innovations employees via the help desk. You’ll gain exposure to multiple IT areas and participate in infrastructure projects while delivering practical on-the-job experience. What You'll Do
- Assist with help desk operations by identifying hardware and software issues via Microsoft Teams and email; respond to repair and service requests with timely communication and detailed documentation.
- Maintain customer service by providing first-level hardware and software support as directed by Infrastructure members.
- Use internal tracking systems to understand, specify, document, and manage each user issue.
- Apply problem solving to resolve issues using internal documentation and online resources.
- Contribute to Infrastructure projects by completing assigned tasks with accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist with deployment of new laptops and workstations and device upgrades.
- Troubleshoot networking issues (LAN/WAN, wireless) with team members.
- Provide technical support to users including network connectivity, VPN, and remote desktop.
- Create, modify, and remove Active Directory & Office 365 accounts.
- Aid in creating system documentation and inventory records. What We're Looking For
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS or a related field, ideally in junior standing; GPA 3.0+.
- Year-round availability (summer up to 40 hours/week).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- High energy, confident, and effective communicator in both written and verbal forms.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows 11 operating systems.
- Experience building computers, installing operating systems, and working with desktop operating systems is a plus.
- Self-motivated with the ability to independently seek solutions and a strong focus on customer service. Nice to Have
