About this role
Job title: ISR/IPS Engineer for Signalling
About the Role The Integrated Service Readiness (ISR) / Integrated Product Support (IPS) Engineer ensures railway systems are prepared for safe, reliable, and maintainable operation throughout their lifecycle. The role focuses on IPS activities with competencies in railway signalling, enabling effective interface with signalling engineering, maintenance, and operational teams. The ideal candidate has proven ISR/ILS experience and a solid background in ETCS-based systems and onboard signalling components such as the EVC.
What You'll Do
- Define, develop, and manage ISR deliverables across projects: Maintenance Plans, Life Cycle Cost Reports, Spare Parts Lists (SPARE), LSA/LSAR data, Maintenance Manuals and User Manuals, Troubleshooting Guide.
- Ensure RAMS requirements are properly addressed from an ISR perspective.
- Coordinate with engineering, commissioning, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure service readiness.
- Contribute to risk analysis related to service readiness and operational deployment.
- Signalling Responsibilities: Support ISR activities related to signalling systems, including onboard and wayside signalling subsystems.
- Understand basic signalling principles and operating logic.
- Interface effectively with signalling engineering teams during design, validation, and commissioning phases.
- Assess maintenance concepts and service strategies for signalling equipment.
- Contribute to troubleshooting and service readiness assessments related to signalling systems.
What We're Looking For
- Signalling knowledge: Solid understanding of signalling principles and basic operating concepts; knowledge of ETCS architecture and functionality; specific experience or knowledge of the European Vital Computer (EVC) and onboard signalling subsystems; understanding of main components of a railway signalling system (onboard, wayside, interfaces).
- ISR / IPS Skills: Strong knowledge of Integrated Service Readiness and Integrated Product Support methodologies; experience applying IPS standards and best practices in railway projects; ability to analyze system design from a maintainability and service perspective; familiarity with maintenance concepts for safety-critical systems.
- Experience Requirements: Minimum 2 years of proven experience in ISR / IPS activities applied to railway systems; experience in projects involving railway signalling systems; prior exposure to ETCS-based signalling projects is highly desirable.
- Education: Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Computer science or equivalent); additional training or certification in signalling or IPS is considered an asset.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural project environments; clear technical communication skills, both written and verbal; structured and methodical approach to documentation and processes.
