About the Role The Technical Project Manager III leads and executes complex IT projects within the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) Project Management Office, driving strategic initiatives and coordinating cross-functional teams to achieve measurable outcomes. This role emphasizes long-term planning, risk assessment, and collaboration with engineering and development teams to ensure successful delivery. The position reports to the PMO Manager in Information Services.

What You'll Do

• Lead complex IT projects with budgets up to $500K, coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver significant organizational impact.
• Exercise authority in planning, execution, and resource management, translating strategic initiatives into detailed project plans with leadership alignment.
• Translate business processes into technical solutions, guiding analysts in requirements gathering and traceability.
• Engage with senior leadership and external partners to align objectives with organizational goals.
• Direct project teams, foster collaboration, and drive process design, reviews, and deployments.
• Audit project lifecycle activities, guide process content, and promote knowledge management.
• Proactively identify, analyze, mitigate, and manage project risks; maintain risk registers and mitigation plans.
• Communicate regularly with stakeholders regarding schedule, status, issues, risks, scope changes, and milestones.
• Mentor and coach staff on project management best practices; advocate for the PMO’s mission within IS and the user community.
• Drive deployment, support, and continuous improvement of standard PM tooling, templates, and applications.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Seven (7) years of relevant experience with progressively increasing responsibility; at least four (4) years must be in project management or comparable roles.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred; eligibility required.

Nice to Have

• PMP certification strongly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $113,830.00 - $124,885.00 per year.
