About the Role Greenhill’s New York based Investment Banking group is seeking an experienced Investment Banking Associate to join its M&A team. This role focuses on designing, origination, structuring and executing mergers & acquisitions, including buy-side, sell-side and other strategic advisory mandates for clients across industries. What You'll Do
- Conduct extensive quantitative economic, industry and company research and analysis.
- Draft and prepare pitch books with detailed industry materials.
- Model and analyze a broad range of corporate finance alternatives and due diligence for client transactions including buy-side M&A, sell-side M&A and other strategic advisory mandates.
- Build and update financial models (DCF, comps, precedent transactions, LBOs) and perform valuation/market analyses.
- Facilitate and coordinate idea generation and solutions development with relevant groups across Mizuho | Greenhill.
- Develop and prepare client presentations and materials with a focus on quality, accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist in the evaluation, due diligence and execution of M&A transactions.
- Assist in the development and continued cultivation of client relationships. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years investment banking, corporate finance, and M&A experience with a top-tier investment bank OR an MBA concentrating in Finance with post-MBA investment banking experience with a top-tier investment bank.
- Knowledge of corporate finance, securities, financial markets and risk & pricing analysis.
- Experience in M&A Investment Banking a strong plus.
- Aptitude to synthesize large amounts of information and develop innovative ideas and/or product solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Maturity and good judgement in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to convey ideas.
- Creativity and intellectual curiosity.
- Ability to work independently and must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency with FactSet, CapitalIQ, Bloomberg, Microsoft Office. Nice to Have
- MBA concentrating in Finance with post-MBA investment banking experience at a top-tier bank. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $175,000 - $225,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus and a generous benefits package.
