About the Role AIG’s Investment Accounting group manages the accounting and reporting for invested assets across the enterprise. The Assistant Director will execute and lead close processes, support external disclosures and regulatory reporting, and drive process improvements to ensure accuracy and strong controls across multiple legal entities. What You'll Do
- Execute and manage accounting processes related to the monthly and quarterly close to ensure accuracy of invested assets data across all entities
- Support review and preparation of Investment disclosures for 10-Q/K, Financial Supplement, and related notes (Investment, Lending, Fair Value, VIE, MD&A)
- Support NAIC statutory and other regulatory reporting requirements
- Lead process improvement initiatives in coordination with the department and other areas of the organization
- Serve as a key point of contact for business unit and corporate controllers
- Coordinate with various areas to understand new investment transactions and ensure proper accounting in the ledgers
- Perform ad-hoc analyses and data requests What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 10+ years’ experience in accounting and reporting for investment products
- Deep understanding of investment products and accounting treatment for fixed maturity, equity, and other investments
- Strong GAAP knowledge and ability to record investments-related journal entries
- Experience with statutory reporting and preparation of statutory schedules
- Experience with foreign currency remeasurement/translation
- Strong analytical skills and experience with investment data analysis and commentary
- Experience reviewing work papers supporting disclosures
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas) for data analysis
- Ability to collaborate across multiple locations and manage multiple projects with urgency and attention to detail
- Team-oriented mindset and focus on process improvements and controls
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and effective communication
- Comfort working in a dynamic, complex organization with strong interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; database experience; PAM/Aladdin experience Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary ranges: New York: $118,000-$178,000; New Jersey: $126,000-$171,000 (USD, yearly)
