Job Description

Label Store is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Inventory Officer to manage stock levels, inventory records, and stock movements in Kilo, Surulere, Lagos.

This on-site, full-time role is crucial for ensuring accurate stock control. Responsibilities include maintaining records of stock, conducting physical counts, verifying deliveries, inspecting goods, and monitoring stock levels to report any discrepancies or issues.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of inventory control procedures, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and excellent attention to detail. A background in Accounting, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of stock received, transferred, issued and sold.
  • Conduct physical stock counts and reconcile inventory with system records.
  • Receive and verify deliveries against invoices, delivery notes and purchase orders.
  • Inspect goods for quantity, quality, damages and expiry dates where applicable.
  • Ensure proper arrangement, labelling and storage of goods.
  • Monitor stock levels and report low, excess, damaged, expired or slow-moving items.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, shortages and variances.
  • Maintain records of stock transfers and prepare daily, weekly and monthly inventory reports.
  • Work with Accounts, Procurement, Sales and Store teams to ensure effective inventory control.
  • Monitor products approaching expiry and ensure compliance with inventory procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of B.Sc., HND or OND in Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related field.
  • Previous experience in inventory management, stock control, warehousing or a similar role.
  • Good knowledge of stock management and inventory control procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory/accounting software.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to identify and investigate stock discrepancies.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in a supermarket, retail, FMCG or similar environment is an added advantage.
