Job title: Inventory Controller
About the Role The Inventory Controller in our Supply Chain team manages warehouse stock in SAP and its replication in PCD to keep real-time data updated from Yard personnel for over 300 pipe and pipe accessory items. This role collaborates with yard leads, yard crews and truck drivers to ensure inventory is received and loaded onto trucks accurately per dispatch. Some fieldwork is required, but the majority of time will be in an office setting with occasional outdoor tasks. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring pre-employment drug & alcohol testing and a fit test.
What You'll Do
- Control product warehouse stock in SAP and replicate transactions in PCD with meticulous accuracy, using Yard data for real-time updates.
- Coordinate with yard lead, yard crews and truck drivers to receive inventory and load onto trucks per dispatch request.
- Communicate effectively via radio devices to coordinate activities.
- Follow health, safety and environment standards; report incidents or observations; perform inspections; participate in investigations; implement preventive/corrective actions; maintain updated risk analyses and environmental aspect assessments.
- Receive information from shop floor-yard crews and replicate warehouse transactions in SAP/PCD.
- Conduct monthly cycle counts and stock reconciliations; ensure movement postings are accurate and up to date.
- Work with internal departments to resolve inventory discrepancies; monitor FIFO and product aging; preserve stock in accordance with procedures; coordinate inspections and reclassifications as needed.
- Manage downgrades or scrapping of materials; backtrack inventory movements in SAP to resolve discrepancies.
- Assist Administration and Finance with annual inventory counts.
- Support shipment activities and verify that products loaded onto trucks match dispatch information.
- Comply with Tenaris policies and legal requirements; participate in ad-hoc projects as needed; protect facilities and resources.
- Maintain safe working practices and protect company assets from damage or theft.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 2 years inventory control experience; OCTG inventory preferred.
- Warehouse Management, Accounting or Supply Chain background preferred.
- SAP experience considered a strong asset.
- Class 5 Driver’s License and clean driving record asset.
- Data analysis experience asset; experience with inventory management systems asset.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel; strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, etc.).
- Strong general computer skills; team oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication; detail oriented; strong analytical abilities; ability to troubleshoot and propose solutions.
Nice to Have
- OCTG inventory experience (preferred).
- Additional SAP exposure and inventory management system familiarity.
