About this role

Intrusion Technician

Careers / Cabling + Security

Installs, programs, and services DMP intrusion alarm systems, from panel and sensor installation to central station signal testing. Takes over existing alarm systems and trains clients to run them.

Full-Time, W-2 or Contractor 4 locations in AZ Mid Level Travel required

About this role

The Intrusion Technician installs, programs, and services commercial intrusion alarm systems for Unió Digital clients. The platform is DMP: XR and XT Series panels, keypads, wired and wireless sensors, and cellular and IP communicators reporting to a central station.

You will handle new installs, takeovers of existing intrusion alarm systems, and service calls. A typical project runs from the zone layout in the design through sensor installation, panel programming, central station registration, and a full signal test before the client takes over. You will work with the Field Operations Lead and the Project Manager, on the same crew as the physical security technicians who install access control and video, because many clients have Unió Digital install all three together.

Unió Digital is a licensed Arizona alarm business and an authorized DMP dealer. Occupied buildings sometimes mean after-hours work. Some client sites and mine sites require site-specific safety training, a background check, or drug screening before you can work there. This seat is open as a W-2 employee position or as a contractor engagement. W-2 employees receive company-paid certifications and training.

Offer factors

Where you land in the range depends on experience, certifications, and role scope.

What you'll do

  • Install DMP XR and XT Series panels, keypads, door and window contacts, motion detectors, glass break sensors, and wireless intrusion sensors

  • Program panels, zones, areas, schedules, and user codes, on site and through DMP Dealer Admin

  • Set up cellular and IP communication, register the account with the central station, place it on test, and verify every zone signal before handoff

  • Take over existing intrusion alarm systems installed by other companies: reuse the wiring and sensors that pass test, replace or reprogram the panel, and bring the account onto central station monitoring

  • Service intrusion alarm systems: replace sensors and batteries, troubleshoot panels and communicators, and find and correct the cause of trouble conditions

  • Tie alarm events to video and access control where the design calls for it

  • Pull, terminate, and test the alarm cabling a job requires

  • Train clients to arm and disarm, manage users, and use the Virtual Keypad app

  • Document zone lists, account details, and test results, and log your time and notes in HaloPSA

  • Keep your alarm agent certification current and carry the card whenever you work on alarm systems

  • Keep tools, test equipment, and materials secure, accounted for, and in working order

  • Follow Unió Digital's safety program: complete the daily pre-task plan, wear required protective equipment, and report hazards, near misses, and incidents

  • What we're looking for

  • 2+ years installing or servicing commercial intrusion alarm systems

  • Experience programming DMP panels is preferred; DMP training or the ESA Certified Alarm Technician Level 1 credential is a plus

  • Working knowledge of cellular and IP alarm communication and central station signal testing

  • Solid low voltage fundamentals: device wiring, end-of-line resistors, power supplies and standby batteries, and reading wiring diagrams

  • Clear communication with clients during installs, service calls, and training

  • Arizona alarm agent certification from the State Board of Technical Registration, or able to obtain one after hire, which requires an Arizona fingerprint clearance card

  • Able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to climb ladders, work from lifts and in ceilings and tight spaces, lift and carry cable and equipment, and work in heat and dust

  • Valid driver's license and a driving record that Unió Digital's vehicle insurer accepts

  • OSHA 10-hour Construction card, or willingness to earn one after hire

  • Eligible to work in the U.S., based in or relocating to one of the listed hiring locations, and able to meet the published travel requirements

  • How We Work

  • Our Core Values

  • These four values are the same on every role. They describe how the team operates, not the duties of this posting.

  • Dream Big, Then Make It Real

  • Bring the ambitious idea, then do the work that makes it real. Ambition counts here, and so does follow-through.

  • Client Driven Results

  • Your scoreboard is the client's result. Find the solution, own the outcome, and treat their success as the job.

  • Own Your Progress

  • You own your work, your misses, and your next skill. We help. We do not hide from problems.

  • We Do It Right

  • Do the correct thing even when no one is watching. Quality is the job, not a slogan.

  • Equal Opportunity

  • Unió Digital hires for skill, character, and fit with our team. Full stop. We do not consider race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or any other legally protected characteristic in employment decisions. If you need an accommodation during the application or interview process, we will figure it out together.
