Job title: Intramural Official
About the Role The Intramural Official is responsible for fairly maintaining game play and mitigating risk during intramural contests. You will understand sport-specific rules, make fair and unbiased judgments, and support operations through facility setup, cleaning, and professional communication.
What You'll Do
- Officiate intramural contests for various sports and enforce the Intramural Sports Rules and Handbook.
- Attend all mandatory trainings and meetings.
- Adhere to and enforce risk management guidelines and policies; complete all necessary paperwork.
- Effectively communicate with staff, participants, and spectators in a professional manner.
- Assist with facility setup and teardown; conduct daily cleaning operations.
- Abide by all staff policies, procedures, and guidelines; procure concussion recognition certification and handle suspected concussions.
- Assist in marketing the Intramural Sports program.
- Other duties as assigned.
- This position may require early mornings, late nights, and weekends.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED; enrolled at a post-secondary institution part-time (one or more credit hours); must be at least 16 years of age.
- Enrollment: Enrollment shall include the period between two successive terms and the one off-term in each academic year in which the student is not enrolled.
- Essential Certifications within 30 days of hire: Clery Certification; Fire Extinguisher Certification; NFHS Concussion in Sports Certification.
- Physical Requirements/Work Environment: Standing; Talking; Walking; Bending; Pulling, pushing; Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Schedule: 10-24 hours/week.
