About the Role Broadlawns Medical Center is seeking a board-certified, fellowship-trained Interventional Pain Physician (Anesthesiology or Physiatry) to join our Des Moines, IA team. The physician will provide interventional pain management services within a facility that features fluoroscopic C-arm procedures, on-site X-ray capabilities, and collaboration with radiology, orthopedics, and neurosurgery. This role offers opportunities to develop a diverse practice and participate in teaching and program growth.
What You'll Do
- Maintain clinical skills and provide direct patient care in inpatient and/or outpatient settings
- Seek consultations from other specialties when appropriate
- Provide ongoing supervision and consultation to mid-level providers, residents, and/or medical students
- Participate in departmental call schedules as assigned
- Participate in medical education programs as assigned
- Attend meetings and committees of the Medical Staff to further the Medical Center’s mission
- Engage in process improvement initiatives related to practice
- Ensure medical records are accurate, timely, and legible
- Demonstrate efficient resource management with evidence-based practice
- Educate patients and families regarding the documented plan of care
What We're Looking For
- Current license to practice in the State of Iowa
- Board certification in Anesthesiology or Physiatry within five years of residency training
- Fellowship-trained in Interventional Pain Medicine with a waiver approved by the Credentials Committee, Medical Executive Committee, and Board of Trustees
- Ideally five or more years of clinical experience
- Strong communication and teaching abilities and a collaborative, patient-centered approach
Nice to Have
- Experience with ESIs, RFAs, nerve blocks, ganglion blocks, PNS, and joint/soft tissue injections
- Familiarity with fluoroscopic C-arm procedures and electrodiagnostic labs
- Interest or experience in osteopathic manual medicine
