About the Role
UpReach offers unpaid internships across multiple programs, providing hands-on exposure to program support, volunteer coordination, therapeutic riding, equine care, and nonprofit fundraising. Interns will gain experience across mounted, unmounted, stable management, development, and marketing activities, with opportunities to work directly with participants and contribute to mission-driven events. All interns are required to complete volunteer training and Taking the Lead training. What You'll Do

Participate in program support across mounted, unmounted, and stable management tracks; assist in daily operations of a nonprofit equine program.

Support with volunteer management and coordination of volunteers.

Assist with therapeutic riding/driving lesson planning and provide direct support to participants with disabilities as appropriate.

Learn and assist with Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) and psychoeducational programs (primarily for unmounted track).

Complete required trainings: volunteer training session and Taking the Lead training.

For development/marketing tracks: assist Development Director and Executive Director with fundraising, donor communications, events planning, and social media/content creation.

Attend and participate in scheduled therapeutic riding/driving lessons to better understand programming and its impact. What We're Looking For

Currently enrolled in a degree program at a higher learning institution.

Self-motivated, team-oriented, and able to meet deadlines; flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

For Mounted/Unmounted tracks: prior horse experience not required. For Stable Management: prior horse experience required.

Willingness to complete volunteer training and Taking the Lead training.

Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work with volunteers and program participants. Compensation & Benefits
