About Mars

At Mars, we’ve been building brands that people and pets love for over a century. As a family-owned business, we operate in more than 180 countries worldwide with iconic brands such as M&M’S, SNICKERS, TWIX, PEDIGREE, WHISKAS, SHEBA, and ROYAL CANIN.

What makes Mars different? Our culture. We believe that growth starts with our people. That’s why you’ll get the freedom to develop yourself, share your ideas, and take real responsibility from day one.

About the Internship

As our Product Availability Coordinator Intern, you will join the Product Availability Team supporting the BeNeLux & International Travel Retail (ITR) markets. Our team is a close-knit, energetic group of 3 to 5 young, motivated professionals dedicated to ensuring optimal product availability across Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and our duty-free travel channels.

This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in supply chain operations, focusing on the critical 0–12 week planning horizon. As a full member of our dynamic and supportive team, you will collaborate to solve real-world business challenges, support our Product Availability Coordinators, and gain exposure to a fast-paced FMCG supply chain.

What You’ll Do

Your focus is to actively support the team in ensuring our customers and consumers always find the products they love, right where and when they expect them. You will balance daily operational tasks with continuous improvement projects:

Operational Tasks (Day-to-Day):

  • Monitor Stock Levels: Track daily product availability against incoming customer orders to proactively identify and address potential stock gaps.

  • Support Inventory Management: Collaborate with our external 3PL warehousing partners to monitor stock projections and ensure accurate, timely information flows.

  • Prepare S&OE Meetings: Help organize, prepare, and structure materials for Sales and Operations Execution (S&OE) meetings to facilitate effective decision-making.

  • Launch Seasonal Campaigns: Actively participate in the execution and monitoring of major product launches, such as Halloween, Christmas, and Easter campaigns.

  • Mitigate Out-of-Stock Situations: Work closely with production planners and sales teams to resolve stock issues quickly and maintain service levels.

Project-Based Work (Continuous Improvement):

  • Drive Efficiency: Initiate and lead small-scale Continuous Improvement projects aimed at optimizing our internal team processes.

  • Innovate Reporting: Streamline reporting tools, enhance communication channels, or develop new digital tracking methods. We highly value fresh perspectives and encourage you to bring your own ideas to the table.

  • Who We’re Looking For

  • We are looking for a motivated, analytical, and hands-on team player who thrives in an informal, international environment and has a genuine passion for logistics.

Your Profile:

  • Education: You are currently pursuing (or have recently completed) a WO-level Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline. You must remain enrolled for the duration of the internship.

  • Analytical Skills: You have strong analytical capabilities, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to interpret data to identify trends.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including data analysis, pivot tables, and basic formulas) is highly valued. Knowledge of Power BI is a strong plus.

  • Soft Skills: You are proactive, eager to learn, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Languages: You are fluent in English (both written and spoken). Knowledge of Dutch is a distinct advantage.

  • What You Can Expect from Mars

  • A challenging and versatile internship in an international environment

  • The opportunity to grow both professionally and personally, supported by an experienced and approachable team

  • A competitive internship allowance (€800–€900 per 4 weeks) and travel and home-working compensation

  • Guidance and mentorship from experienced supply chain professionals

  • And of course, unlimited access to our chocolate at the office
