About the Role
UNESCO offers an internship within the Education Sector to provide hands-on exposure to education project work and policy development in support of the Education 2030 agenda. The role focuses on learning-by-doing across project design, management, policy briefs, and multilateral processes, with emphasis on collaboration and professional growth.
What You'll Do
- Understand the approach to developing and managing education projects and gain insights into how international organizations set standards, exchange knowledge, and provide policy advice.
- Carry out data analyses related to education and assist in the design of policy briefs using case studies, group discussions, and other methodologies.
- Observe and participate in the development and implementation of education projects, and learn about global policy making in the education sector.
- Acquire and strengthen skills in research, writing, communication, and soft skills such as stakeholder management, problem-solving, teamwork, and client-focus.
- Get an overview of UNESCO's work and opportunities to develop competencies within the UNESCO Competency Framework.
What We're Looking For
- Age at least 20 years old.
- Academic qualifications: currently enrolled in 3rd year/final year of Bachelor's OR enrolled in a second degree (Master's/PhD) OR recently completed degree within 12 months.
- Languages: excellent command of English or French; knowledge of the other language is an asset.
- Computer skills: strong knowledge of computer systems and office software.
- Team player with ability to work in an international environment; strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- UNESCO does not remunerate interns. There is no financial compensation for internship assignments.
- Interns are entitled to 2.5 days of leave per month during the internship and an additional 1 working day per complete month of internship.
- Interns are provided with limited workplace insurance coverage for injury, illness, disability, or death incurred during the internship and attributable to its execution.
- You will be responsible for visa, travel arrangements, and proof of comprehensive health insurance for the duration of the internship.
