International Logistics & Supply Chain Director

We are looking for an experienced International Logistics & Supply Chain Director to lead global inbound logistics operations from manufacturing sites in Asia to customers across North America. This role will oversee transportation planning, carrier coordination, customs-related activity, and delivery performance while helping scale operations to support significant volume growth. Based in Plano, Texas, this leader will also partner closely with sales, finance, and operations to strengthen service levels, improve visibility, and drive process automation.

Responsibilities

• Direct end-to-end international inbound logistics, coordinating the movement of goods from overseas production facilities through final customer delivery in North America.

• Manage ocean freight activity by working with carriers and freight partners on bookings, scheduling, shipment tracking, and issue resolution.

• Oversee customs, tariffs, duties, and related import requirements to support compliant and efficient cross-border operations.

• Lead efforts to enhance logistics systems, connect new technologies, and automate manual workflows that affect reporting, invoicing, and shipment visibility.

• Partner with finance to confirm freight-related charges are recorded accurately, ensure duty and fee obligations are addressed, and communicate delivery milestones that trigger customer invoicing.

• Serve as a key point of contact for internal sales teams and customers by providing shipment updates, addressing service concerns, and helping resolve delivery exceptions.

• Supervise and develop a small team, including two direct reports, while fostering an accountable, positive, and improvement-focused work environment.

• Monitor logistics performance through reporting and analysis, using strong Excel and business intelligence tools to support decision-making and operational planning.

• Build scalable processes and carrier strategies to support rapid shipment growth as annual container volume increases significantly.

• Evaluate current third-party logistics support and strengthen internal oversight to improve consistency, service quality, and operational control.

• 7+ years of experience in international logistics, supply chain management, or a related leadership role.

• Strong background in ocean shipping, freight coordination, and end-to-end import logistics from origin port through customer delivery.

• Experience handling customs processes, tariffs, duties, and other trade-related requirements in a high-volume environment.

• Demonstrated ability to implement technology solutions, integrate systems, and automate operational processes.

• Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to manage reporting, analyze shipment data, and support cross-functional planning.

• Familiarity with business systems and analytics platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Power BI.

• Proven ability to collaborate with sales, finance, vendors, and customers while maintaining a high level of professionalism and accountability.

• Leadership experience managing direct reports and promoting a high-performance, growth-oriented team culture.
