INTERNAL CONTROL OFFICER (SPORTSBOOK/GAMING INDUSTRY) based in Ikeja, Lagos. Full-time position.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain internal control checklists covering sportsbook operations, payments, customer support, vendor activities, and reconciliations.
- Review operational processes to ensure compliance with approved procedures, approval limits, access controls, and documentation requirements.
- Conduct routine reviews of deposits, withdrawals, bet settlements, bonus approvals, customer adjustments, complaints, and exception reports.
- Identify control weaknesses, process deviations, recurring errors, unusual transactions, and potential operational losses.
- Recommend corrective actions to strengthen controls, improve process efficiency, and reduce financial and operational risks.
- Support daily and periodic reconciliation of payment provider reports, wallet balances, settlement records, failed transactions, and internal ledgers.
- Investigate unmatched transactions, delayed settlements, duplicate entries, chargebacks, and unusual payment patterns.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3–4 years’ experience in internal control, audit, risk, compliance, finance operations, payments, or regulated digital services.
- Experience in sportsbook, gaming, fintech, payments, or other regulated digital services is an added advantage.
- Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, CIA, CISA, or a related qualification is required.
- Strong understanding of internal controls, reconciliations, process testing, documentation, and exception reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify patterns in transactional data.
- Good knowledge of risk management, compliance monitoring, and audit documentation practices.
