About this role
We're seeking a Resident Internal Auditor to advise management on internal control systems and manage business risk at the assigned Port Harcourt location, providing assurance on the quality and cost effectiveness of internal controls.
Responsibilities
- Advise all levels of management on the company’s systems of internal control and management of business risk within the assigned location.
- Support management's business objectives and provide overall assurance on the quality and cost effectiveness of internal controls.
- Carry out constant reviews and spot checks designed to ensure that the company’s assets are safeguarded from significant losses, including those caused by fraud, waste, inefficiency and commercially unsound practices.
- Ensure relevant laws, policies, rules, regulations and other procedural routines are complied with.
- Ensure operations are conducted effectively, efficiently and economically in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
- Ensure management information systems are reliable and secure.
- Monitor systems under development to ensure appropriate internal controls are built in and are consistent with the company’s business needs.
- Ensure significant business risks are effectively managed.
- Ensure major business projects achieve their objectives.
