Intern, Technology Scouting for Fall 2026/Winter 2027 in Mountain View, CA. This full-time internship supports BMW Group R&D by scouting and analyzing emerging trends, technologies and materials in Mobility, Consumer Electronics, Digital Ecosystems, Autonomous Vehicles and Sustainability. The program runs Sept 21, 2026 – Mar 19, 2027 with a 36.25-hour work week in a hybrid environment.

What You'll Do

• Scout, analyze and understand emerging trends, technologies, and materials to support BMW Group R&D efforts in mobility and related fields.

• Track activities and investments in technology domains and provide routine executive summaries focused on venture capital and startup activity in the U.S.

• Identify trends and technologies in startups, corporations and universities in focus areas.

• Support project management of innovation projects and track engagement activity.

• Support team networking initiatives by identifying startup ecosystem partners including venture capital, accelerators, university initiatives and startups.

• What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program at an accredited college or university; US work authorization required.

• GPA 3.0 or higher and at least 60 college credit hours at the time of application.

• Ability to work full-time (36.25 hours/week) and submit an unofficial transcript with the application.

• Prior BMW Group experience.

• Field of Study: business, economics, data science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or design.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; strong PowerPoint and Excel skills.

• Advanced presentation skills and excellent time management; ability to multitask and handle sensitive information.

• Strong organizational and planning skills; self-motivated and adaptable; able to work independently and in a team.

• Business fluent English.
