Position Overview

AutoCAD, the leading software for Computer-Aided Design, is seeking a highly motivated Backend Software Engineer intern to join our team to build and support the entire cloud services ecosystem for our various products.

You will be part of the AutoCAD backend team that builds, expands, and maintains the backend cloud solutions for the multi-platform AutoCAD application that serves millions of users. You’ll be working with modern technology stacks, including Python, Django, Java, AWS, PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis, Dynatrace, Docker and more.

On-site in-person recruitment drive starts from 9 October - 6 November 2026

Responsibilities

  • Research and recommend the best approach to solve a given problem

  • Take part in the research, design, development, deployment, and monitoring of cross-platform AutoCAD features – bringing a centralized backend perspective to the table

  • Adopt of best practice and market-standard technologies and methodologies

  • Collaborate with colleagues both inside and outside of the team

This internship might be for you if:

  • You are passionate about software development and technologies

  • You are comfortable working in newly forming ambiguous areas where learning and adaptability are key skills

  • You love the exposure to develop scalable cloud service on scalable AWS infrastructure

  • You are great at communicating your findings both orally and visually

  • You have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectually as a member of team with minimal supervision

  • Minimum Qualifications

  • You must be enrolled in a full-time Bachelor's Program in Computer Science or Engineering or other relevant fields

  • You must either be in your penultimate or final year of studies, and will be graduating in 2027 or 2028

  • Understanding of object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms

  • Experience of working with programming languages like Python, node.js, JavaScript, etc.

  • Internship period: 11 January - 25 June 2027 (fixed dates)

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS-based architecture

  • Previous back-end development experience
